Founded on an enduring love of beautiful art and objects, Arte House is a continually evolving collection of sourced pieces curated with every day life in mind.
Living and working between London and Cornwall, we have spent over two decades collecting, curating, and living with extraordinary pieces. Our collection embodies this journey — a life made together through deep friendship, surrounded by paintings, antique furniture, ceramics, books and prints spanning blended eras of historic and modern beauty.
Arte house reflects how we live and see the world, and our desire to share this vision beyond the walls of our home, helping you to shape your own. Making a home takes time, gathering character through intentionally chosen pieces that resonate with the life you are creating. Each piece in the Arte House collection has been personally discovered, from the unusual and curious to the more traditional and known. These are timeless pieces that would not be out of place in a museum yet belong in homes, made to be lived with, inspiring the day to day.
Beyond our personal collection, we want Arte House to tell a complete story of our world, celebrating the creative works by brilliant people we have met along the way whose values and aesthetics reflect our own. Through thoughtful collaboration, we are working with contemporary artists and makers to create distinctive pieces for lived spaces, complementing historic works while bringing newness to our homes.
We invite you to see and shop our found artworks and objects, and hope you discover pieces that will bring joy and beauty to your own spaces.
S & N, founders
Behind the name
The name ‘Arte’ carries rich meaning across languages, translating to 'art', 'skill', and 'craft' in Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. It also has special significance in Celtic, Greek and Latin traditions, meaning ‘strong as a bear’. This name holds a special place in our hearts, as S’s niece has always seen him as a bear through her innocent imagination — to her, he is our Bear, a true protector and her own personal guardian. In naming Arte House, this felt so fitting as a beautiful connection to our world.
