Product Representation
We make every effort to present our products accurately. Images, dimensions, and descriptions are provided in good faith, though slight variations may occur. Additional images or information are available upon request.
Measurements are approximate, and colour reproduction may vary due to screen settings. Antique and vintage items may show signs of age and patina, which add to their character. Product descriptions are provided to the best of our knowledge but may change due to production variations.
Condition reports can be provided upon request.
Pricing & VAT
Prices are displayed in GBP (£) and may change without notice. We operate under a mix of standard VAT and the Margin Scheme, depending on the product category. VAT may be included in the price or separately itemised at checkout, in line with applicable tax rules.
Where applicable, we are happy to provide a full VAT invoice or receipt on request. Under the Margin Scheme, VAT is not itemised separately on invoices.
Prices may be adjusted due to currency fluctuations or changes in import/export duties.
Purchasing & AML Compliance
Online payments are processed securely through Stripe. For purchases exceeding £8,000, we are required under UK anti-money laundering (AML) regulations to verify your identity before the sale is completed.
We reserve the right to decline transactions or cancel orders where AML checks cannot be satisfactorily completed.
Order Confirmation & Payment
Upon checkout, you will receive an automatic email confirmation. For some orders, a member of our team may follow up to confirm delivery arrangements. For direct sales or enquiries outside of the website, an invoice will be issued including our bank details for payment by bank transfer.
Shipping & Delivery
We offer and arrange shipping for all UK and international orders. If you’d like a shipping quote before purchasing, please get in touch. Customs duties and any additional fees for international orders are the responsibility of the customer.
[Shipping Costs & Delivery Times] We offer shipping for both UK and international orders. Shipping costs are based on the delivery method chosen and the destination. Delivery times are estimates and can sometimes be affected by factors beyond our control, such as weather or delays with the courier.
[Shipping Carrier] We use trusted couriers for all deliveries, depending on your location and the size/value of the item.
[Loss or Damage in Transit] If the item is lost or damaged, please contact us as soon as possible to help resolve the issue.
[Self-Arranged Shipping] If you prefer to arrange your own shipping, responsibility for the item transfers to you once it’s collected. We are not liable for any issues once the item leaves our care.
[Liability Coverage] For higher-value items, we offer the option to arrange additional coverage for extra protection during transit.
Inspection & Damaged Goods
Please inspect your order upon delivery. Any damage must be reported within 48 hours of receipt to hello@artehouse.co.uk, with photographs and a description of the issue. After this time, we cannot guarantee a refund or exchange.
Claims made outside this period may not be accepted.
Returns & Exchanges
We understand that sometimes things don’t work out. If you’re not completely happy with your purchase, you can return or exchange it within 14 days of receiving it. Items must be unused, undamaged, and in saleable condition with all tags and packaging intact.
[How to Return] Just drop us an email at hello@artehouse.co.uk with your order number and the reason for your return. We’ll send you a Return Authorisation (RA) number along with instructions on how to proceed.
[Return Shipping] The return shipping cost is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty or damaged.
[Refunds] Once we receive and inspect the returned item, refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method. Original shipping charges, duties, and taxes are non-refundable.
[Exchanges] If you'd prefer an exchange, we’ll be happy to arrange that once the returned item is inspected. If an exchange isn’t possible, we’ll issue a refund instead.
Please Note:
We reserve the right to decline returns that don’t meet the above conditions. Items that cannot be accepted for return will be sent back to the customer at their expense.
Suitability of Goods
We advise customers to confirm that a piece meets their needs before purchasing. If you have specific concerns about size, materials, or placement, we encourage you to contact us beforehand for guidance.
Liability
Our liability is limited to the price paid for the item purchased directly from Arte House Ltd. We are not liable for damages or losses during transit where shipping is arranged by the customer or falls outside courier insurance coverage.
Advice & Guarantees
All advice is provided in good faith. We cannot guarantee the long-term performance or suitability of any item.
Intellectual Property & Marketing
All content, images remain the intellectual property of Arte House Ltd unless agreed otherwise.
We reserve the right to use images of products sold or available in our digital and print marketing materials, unless you notify us in writing to opt out.
Governing Law
The contract and any disputes arising from it will be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
