STORE MANAGER

Bath | Full-Time

Arte House is looking for a Store Manager to lead our new Bath gallery.

We bring together Modern British art, carefully chosen antiques and the work of selected contemporary artists and makers, alongside a small collection of objects for the home.

This is a senior role within a small team. Working closely with the founders, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the gallery, set the tone for how everyone who comes through the door is welcomed and looked after, and take the lead in their absence

[THE ROLE]

  • Welcome visitors and lead sales in a warm, relaxed and thoughtful manner.

  • Build warm, lasting relationships with everyone who comes into the gallery.

  • Take care of client enquiries and orders, including follow-up emails, sending further information, preparing invoices, obtaining delivery and shipping quotes, and any related paperwork.

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Bath gallery.

  • Look after the presentation, organisation and visual standards of the gallery.

  • Work with the London team to create and maintain a tear sheet library containing relevant information for pieces in the gallery.

  • Manage stock, deliveries, online orders and general gallery administration, including preparing and sending the weekly sales report.

  • Work closely with the London team to keep stock information and orders up to date across both galleries.

  • Help prepare the information needed for the quarterly accounts.

  • Lead and support part-time weekend staff.

  • Support exhibitions, events and collection launches.

  • Work closely with the founders to help grow the gallery and develop its presence in Bath.

[THE PERSON]

  • Previous gallery or relevant retail management experience is essential.

  • A strong knowledge of and genuine interest in art and antiques.

  • Naturally warm and confident with clients, creating a welcoming and relaxed experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Organised, practical and detail-focused, with a strong eye for presentation.

  • Comfortable running the gallery independently, taking ownership and using initiative when needed.

  • An appreciation for interiors, craftsmanship and beautifully made objects.

[WORKING AT ARTE HOUSE]

  • The opportunity to lead our second gallery from its opening.

  • Work daily with exceptional art, antiques and contemporary makers.

  • A creative, supportive and collaborative working environment.

  • The chance to help shape the next chapter of Arte House.
