A seventeenth-century Chinese Wucai porcelain jar, decorated with a stylised phoenix amongst flowering peonies and scrolling foliage in the characteristic iron-red, green and yellow palette. Later mounted as a table lamp with brass fittings and sold with a pleated silk sari lampshade.
