A sculptural glass vase from the 'Colora' series, designed by Vicke Lindstrand and produced by Kosta Glasbruk (now Kosta Boda) in Sweden, 1958. Known for his innovative approach to form and colour, Lindstrand was a leading figure in Swedish modernist glass design. During his tenure as artistic director at Kosta from 1950 to 1973, he pioneered new decorative techniques using powdered pigment.
In this example, colour is applied in circular formations, rather than the linear patterning more typical of the Colora series. The form is then shaped through final blowing, creating a richly textured and painterly surface. The base is etched: Kosta Sweden 1958.
