Hand-built in terracotta, this vessel features a repeating pendant-shaped motif in soft clay green, decorated with inky, broken floral forms applied using a traditional spongeware technique. Inspired by 18th-century papiers dominotés—French block-printed endpapers—and English spongeware, the pattern is both nostalgic and contemporary. Inside, a tiny painted bud adds a playful detail, recalling vintage textile prints such as Laura Ashley’s Cottage Sprig.
Each piece is individually made by British ceramicist Sophie Wilson, founder of 1690, and created in small batches exclusively for Arte House.
