A hand-built ceramic sculpture by North Yorkshire-based ceramicist Charlotte Salt, made exclusively for Arte House. Crafted in red stoneware and finished with white slip, tin glaze and oxides, the piece draws on mythological imagery through Salt’s distinctive approach to form and surface.
Charlotte Salt works from her home studio in North Yorkshire and as part of the AHH Studio Collective. Using traditional hand-building techniques including coiling, pinching and slab construction, she creates sculptural forms that retain the visible marks of making. Her work draws on influences ranging from William Blake and early European tapestries to classical ceramics, exploring symbolism, folklore and narrative through textured surfaces and expressive form.
