Esther Lara (b. 1988) is a Spanish ceramic artist and illustrator based in Barcelona. She studied Illustration at Escola Massana in 2012 before establishing herself as a freelance print designer in the fashion industry. Her ceramics practice developed in parallel, shaped through hands-on learning with professional ceramists in Barcelona studios. She now works primarily in clay. Lara’s practice explores the human experience through material form, drawing on themes of intuition, symbolism, and the spiritual dimension of everyday life. The Leopardo incense burner reflects her broader interest in how objects bear witness to emotion, ritual and instinct. Made in glazed stoneware, it combines the minimal qualities of ancient sculpture with functional, expressive form. Her work frequently features animals as symbolic figures of the subconscious or instinctual self, and each piece is hand-built to preserve the physical immediacy of making. Through this tactile approach, Lara engages with clay as both a primal material and a creative tool for reflection and reconnection in an increasingly digital world. Origin: Barcelona, Spain Period/Style: Contemporary Material: Glazed stoneware Dimensions: 12cm height × 12cm width × 4cm depth
