Hand-thrown in Norwich by ceramicist Paige Mitchell, this small stoneware plant pot and matching saucer feature a delicate frilled rim and a warm honey glaze. Inspired by her everyday activities – gardening, sketchbook drawing, and both wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics – Mitchell creates functional pieces that balance practicality with expressive form.
Each piece is individually thrown on the wheel, with a drainage hole added at the leather-hard stage. After bisque firing, the pot and saucer are glazed in a glossy, translucent honey glaze and high-fired for durability.
The saucer is water-repellent and intended to catch excess moisture, though the piece should not be left standing in water for prolonged periods. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the pot will retain its surface over time, with natural variations in glaze adding character to each piece.
