Tabby Booth is a Cornwall-based artist whose work draws from folklore, coastal mythology, and decorative folk art traditions. A graduate of Central Saint Martins and co-founder of Sailors Jail Gallery in Falmouth, she works in a distinctive sgraffito technique—carving into layers of waxed acrylic to reveal contrasting textures and detail.
Each work in the Star Sign series explores zodiac symbolism through a personal, hand-rendered approach. Booth’s compositions reference the linear quality of scrimshaw and the simplicity of naïve painting, framed in antique wooden frames dating to around 1900.
