Troika Pottery was founded in 1963 in St Ives by Benny Sirota and sculptor Leslie Illsley. The studio became known for its experimental forms and textured glazes, blending modernist design with sculptural approaches. In 1970, Troika relocated to Newlyn, expanding its production and developing some of its most recognisable designs. Alison Brigden joined the pottery in the early 1970s, contributing to its surface decoration and glaze application. Troika closed in 1983, but its work remains a defining feature of post-war Cornish studio ceramics.
