A hand-built ceramic sculpture by Charlotte Salt, made exclusively for Arte House. Crafted in red stoneware and finished with white slip, tin glaze, and oxides, the piece draws on mythological motifs and Salt’s distinctive approach to form and surface.
Working from her studio in North Yorkshire and as part of the AHH Studio Collective, Salt uses traditional techniques such as coiling, pinching, and slab construction. Her work embraces the natural irregularities of making, with expressive textures and brushwork intentionally left visible. Influenced by sources including William Blake, early European tapestries, and classical ceramics, her practice explores themes of memory, symbolism, and narrative.
